I am offering, through my friend - Tyre stripping and re-fitting, shotblasting of all wheels, followed by gold powder coating, lacquered, with a polished lip. I will provide 4x Williams wheels (also refurbished) with tyres for you to bomb around in whilst this is done (3-4day turn around).

This will cost £200.

For those who do not need tyres stripping and re-fitted, and can bring the wheels to me without tyres, the price will be £170.

I am based in midlands (near nuneaton), but am a little flexible as to meeting in the midlands area.

The results are displayed here:

he's not making that much off it in all honesty, he's just a god lad who likes to do a good job. I've a feeling he wants to go out on his own at some point, so helping peeps out on here would be good if u want wheels doing in future. Had a fair few people interested so far so its obv a good price. I might take some pics of them on the car if people are interested?

sorry people, i just got a lot of 'the gold looks off', 'the gold looks off', 'i could do that in my garage', so i kind of gave up hope lol. In regards to the gold, its powder coat, so you cannot do it in the exact gold that they original wheels came in. You kind of have gold 1, gold 2, gold 3 lol....etc. The gold that they've been done in will last a good 5 years instead of 1-2 with ordinary paint - and its subaru gold, so its as close as needs to be. my mates still doing them, so anyone wants any doing, let me know. Im getting some pictures for people soon of black n smoked chromey wheels.

Ok, here are some pictures of the refurbished alloys on my car. I've tried to take pics of them in different lights, as in bright light they look more yellowy, than is perhaps true. Hope I got enough pictures to give you all a good idea of how they turn out. To confirm, if you're coming with wheels already stripped its £170, if not and you want tyres stripped and or popping back on its £200. I'm not so sure the pics do the wheels justice, but there we are:

they all look good mate. my only question is what does he do with the centre cap's?

from the pics they all look a slightly diff colour to the wheels and from what i know you cant powdercoat plastic. Does he just spray them?

titcharoony
16-03-2009, 14:51
he hasnt treated the caps properly in any of the pics,(as you can see some of them he has just left std colour) but yes he sprays and lacquers them as far as im aware, im happy with mine, cols are cool too. trust me, if you go for his wheels you wont be dissapointed.
