...Is the clock supposed have a light behind it?

Trying to work out if the bulb has gone, also, how easy are they to remove, i.e the clock and instrument panel?

the clock just pops out mate with a flat head screwdriver easy give it a try 8)

Yeah, they have a bulb behind them.
Easier to remove if you take the heater control panel out first, less likely to damage anything as well.
