Gear Selection

Can anyone give me any idea why it is almost impossible to select reverse, 1st or 2nd when my car starts to get hot ie, summer city drving. no problems when starting from cold and the clutch cable has been recently replaced. Didnt have any problrms before the cable being replaced, thanks.

Could try changing the gearbox oil.

does it make an irritating squeak noise too? and when u pull it out of gear it doesnt SPRING back into the centre of the gear box console and is quite stiff.....as i had this. changed gear box fluid and greased the mo fo up and it was ok after that. it also only happended when hot too.
