Ok so my drivers door has dropped slightly, getting annoying when closing cos it has to be done with a little force....

As u can see it dont really shut that well and still looks open grrr.

What do u lot suggest i do? May it be a case of tightening everything up or a set of new pins need to be ordered if so cost and code s'il vous plait

(only pic i had...)

I did my passenger door only this afternoon, you have to adjust the pin on the shell inwards more, its a case of trial and error but mine now sits flush again, hope this helps

Spesh u!

Had a quick look, they do look slightly corroded so new pins it is then. will stop off at a garage and get them to do it me thinks unless anyone close wants to offer...... Bacon sandwichs, cuppa tea and chocolate bars is very good in my books!

I changed the pins on both of mine, they can be a right bitch to get out especially if the heads snap off, they have to be drilled out.... i ended up taking the doors off and dropping them off at an engineering place to drill them out and fit the new ones in.... even he had trouble!...

So my advice, get a garage to do it, or if you do want to attempt it yourself, be prepared to not have your car working incase the hinges break or the pins snap off inside..

if you are lucky, they have simply 'worn' and you can still get them to screw out, i got 2 of mine out this way, the problem is that the head strips very easily and eventually snaps off...........

i would give it a go yourself, but as suggested, have a plan b just incase you can't get them out and can't put your door back on!

Erm... grab the bottom outer edge of the door and lift. Bends the door back up. Did that to my clio couple of times over the years. Seems pretty effective to me.

Caveat: my pins and striker are fine and non-corroded, the door was bent from metal fatigue.
