Can you flash yourheadlights with the lights on? i can when lights are off but when on i have to go high beam back to low beam to flash, im guessing my stalk is worn or is this normal?

Good news my external temp gauge is working for the first time in 4 years of ownership

Haven't driven my car for two years but I'm pretty sure that's normal. I think to flash you have to pull once to go high beam and then quickly pull again to return to low.

You can alternatively use fogs, as above, or turn the dipped beam down to sidelights and back up again so as not to blind someone :)

would be good if you could push the stalk away from you to flash people (i.e. not have it 'lock')

I've always wondered why they do this.

Might it have something to do that the H4 bulbs we all use have two filaments in, one for dipped, and one for main beam?

I think it stops you switching both dipped and high beam on as the bulb would probably get too hot, maybe?

I've thought about trying a MK2 indicator stalk as this allows you to 'flash', but not sure what problems that might give.

doubt its a bulb issues, my fiesta uses h4. however it could be a wiring issue
