OK, last things to sort out on this clio then its a1.
Firstly it has very loud tappets. With over 100k on the clock, and oil as black as pitch, does the 1.4 engine use hydraulic lifters? If so can anyone recommend a good engine flusher?
Finally the temp on the car only goes up to the 1/4 mark, even if i drive it a long time (ie an hour) i realise its cold, but its not loosing water and was thinking i should change the thermostat. Does anyone know where the thermostat is on this engine and do i need to do a full coolant flush at the same time or can it be changed over without ditching all my coolant?
