As some of you may know by now that i've just bought my first house so i feel its time the track car should go because it seems sad to park it up and it not be used for such a long time.

I have owned the car for nearly 4 year now and its had quite a transformation from the 1.8 16v into the 185BHP Hybrid it is now, i haven't spared any costs for this car, if its been broken it has been replaced with new for example recently it had an alternator failure on route back from nurburg and its had a replacement with a brand new unit from Andrew Page motorfactors. The previous owner being a friend of mine had it for 2 years previous to me and the same again cost was never spared.

Recently the car has had a replacement engine loom as the original one was becoming abit tatty and starting to fail, i managed to source one from the same year 16v which is near mint (few broken injector clips) and the car runs like a dream.

I'm looking for approx £3500 ono

Any questions welcome either on this thread or via PM or email (bayliss_v6@hotmail.co.uk)

Hmm, so I see you overtake a 172, then not overtake a silver 182, the Williams let you pass, and the Meg R26 was on an in lap, well done mate

stoneyV6
31-05-2009, 01:07
LOL,, i rip them to bits on a regular bassis fella,,, the last time williams clio came to croft on mass not one of them would go on track when the BM rolled out.

As for the R26R i have seen 3 on track and have been on track in one and they where all slow compared to any half decent track car.

the williams i had to wait for to let it past and as you can see it lasted three corners and it was all over,,, on 3 wheels understeering and slow.

Bayliss for ****s sake buy a decent car and drop this french shit.

Seems to me its more the drive than the cars involved, you seem to know what your doing :D

Swap cars with one of the renaults one day and see if the outcomes the same - wouldn't suprise me if your were giving the beemer the roasting the clios got

stoneyV6
31-05-2009, 18:04
That's a fair point Daz but as a few on here will tell you i had a brand new clio 182 for a year and followed that with a brand new clio V6.

I was quicker in the V6 than the 182 but if i use the clio 182 as an example,,, my BM is a bit lighter than a 182 because its stripped but its only 170bhp so power to weight its very similar to the 182.

Around oulton or cadwell the BM is about 6 seconds a lap quicker than the 182 and i drove both cars as hard as i could,,, so how does that fit with the clio is faster than everything mentality i see so often.

I think half the trouble these days is people are brought up on a diet of FWD cars and simply cant drive RWD,,, but for egos sake its easier to blame the RWD car than their lack of ability.

The E30 is by far the better chassis and mines 20 years old.

bayliss might remember this  the car was 3 weeks old when i did this trackday so i was still trying to learn how the car would handle.

fair points, I've always wanted a red e30 m3 evo, nowhere to put it mind!

I've only driven rwd once or twice and I hadn't got a pube let alone a ball to give some sideways lol..

Empty track and a free car and I'd like to have a pop!

Hmm, so I see you overtake a 172, then not overtake a silver 182, the Williams let you pass, and the Meg R26 was on an in lap, well done mate

The damn camera switched off before i went past the 182,, as for the R26R here it is again as seen from a 1.6 civic.

I am following the R26R in the BM and let the civic past then got bored of the R26R (toooo slow) and set off after the civic,, the civic let me pass again later in the vid and we both wade through numerous slow Renault's.

richy
01-06-2009, 18:55
lol lets be honest its the same for anyone who goes on track, if you overtake someone it doesnt mean you or your car is faster outright as the other driver might not be confident, or might not want to go totally nuts as it could be there only car/new car, or might not know the track particually well and is going steady while picking lines up etc.

i think we could all sit and claim we panned x cars.....
like for example i went cadwell the other month and there was 3x e30 325's running cages/semi slicks etc and i was overtaking them all each time i went out, me on road tyres and my first time out at cadwell park!

and at donington there was another e30 325 running in my session and i was overtaking that everytime, and have 2 witness's both my passenger and a mate who was watching...

but at the same time i was struggling to match a few cars(leon cupra race car/mapped evo TME and 360bhp FRS)

i have never had issues beating any of them, they are all unreliable turds tbh, ask bayliss.

they are quick when stripped and tuned and running track tyres while playing hero against a standard road car,, but against any decent track car they are slow.

i guess this all means that as ever your no able to back up the big words,,, typical.
