Just thought I'd ask who else is suffering atm

As some of you may remember, I got attacked by a flying chav in his barrel rolling corsa on bonfire night  I'm now just waiting for the insurance to pay out so I can pay for the repairs  I'm just getting pissed off with it now as they're faffing about :x which is to be expected in most cases, but this is costing them £90 every day  then there's the actual payout and the compo on top, so surely you'd expect them to cough up sooner rather than later

In the meantime I'm driving the 307 hire car that I'm starting to hate more & more everyday  and having chronic withdrawal symptoms from not driving my valver  it's that bad I'm starting to subconsciously ( at quiet/bored moments  ) make valver noises and even doing heel & toe gear changes while sat or lying down
I even woke myself up one time quite recently making said noises and saw my hands up in front of my face dialling in some opposite lock on an invisible steering wheel and my right foot feathering an imaginary throttle pedal

To make things more annoying, I'm only in this situation due to someone elses lack of brains, bad taste in cars and piss poor driving abilities :x It wasn't so bad the last time I was without my car, when she was getting resprayed not so long ago, as it was my choice. Or the time I broke my suspension due to lack of talent  as it was my own fault.

So come on people, who else is in the same boat as me? :anyone: or am I just another nutcase that needs his car back or lockin up in a padded room? :muahaha:

Sorry for the long post, just needed to let off some steam

Top going that mate.

Have you at any point ever felt like jacking your project in!?

Ive been keeping an eye on your project thread!

No pressure on disclosing the figures, but how much have you spent roughly on it..? Its ok mate if you dont wish to tell..

Only reason I ask if ive finally left home, and moved into a gaff with a garage so the 16v will soon to become a hybrid, well maybe in a couple of years.

Engine resembles more of a tractor on these cold icy mornings on start up and the rust has truly set in on the arches!

Just thought I'd ask who else is suffering atm

I reckon when you get it back all nice and fresh you will have the feeling like when you picked your 1st 16v up and getting going in it!

Ive said it before, Ill NEVER EVER EVER EVER forget the day I picked my 16v up.

It was a feeling I doubt Ill ever get again.

I could never afford the insurance when I was 17 dreaming of one, or more to the point couldnt justify the silly 4k quotes i was getting, and then when I could justify the insurance at 21 I started looking. Id looked and kept patient for one, for 6months whilst on the lookout, finally picked one up from corby, nhants, 1 owner from new 59,000 miles.

I can just remember pulling into the filling station filling it up, looking at it, the seats, the power, the looks, god what a day! What a feeling.

Then I remember lighting it up going onto the mway, 2nd - redline, 3rd - redline, wow, what a feeling..

Then, 5 years down the line I have finally got the lack of torque feeling and think its time for

Hi. Yes, frequently thought about giving up on the project, especially when its freezing cold outside and things don't go to plan  Things are a bit better now though that things are going back on the car and I feel like there will finally be an end to it. The hardest phase was the months of removing everything, spending hours prepping and painting and yet still the car could not even be moved on the drive! Pretty much just the engine to go now, and then it'll be off going again. I hadn't really kept a tab on the costs although if you look in my garage I have put most of the stuff so far on there. So it appears to be 6k??!?!? And I know I haven't put the carbon seats and dash on there yet as the garage function has been broken for a while. And then there is/are the engine(s) to add...

Glad to know someone is following the thread. I rarely get many comments there but I promised myself that after all the help I got from other threads on this site I would always try to post details on my progress so it might be of some help to others!

My car is off the road for a year and a half now. I was suffering badly for a long time and then decided to put an end to my misery and bought another hot (warmer  ) hatch -> AX GT. Now I can again enjoy the twisties. But nothing comes even close to the looks, sound, feel of the Williams. Every time I drive or am being driven in a 16V (I'm the only one with Willy so there's no patch for me) I'm amazed how much I'm in love with this car. I get heretic ideas of selling it every once a while, but in the end no matter how hard it tries to mess with me I like it too much and always decide to keep it. So I guess I'm another candidate for padded room.

ive not driven mine for 6 months now

it sits outside my house waiting for me to come off my ban (3rd january, yay)

totted up 12 points so got the 6 month mandatory ban, so you might be missing the williams but missing driving is worse! any car is better than a bus

its given me 6 months to give it some tlc though, needed a spring doing and little bits and bobs :P

I haven't been able to drive mine for a week now due to a broken wrist! i am getting withdrawl symptoms even though the ride is shvt at the moment.

I have thought many times about selling it but i don't think i could ever do it even after all the money i have spent/wasted.

The other point is that even if i did manage to sell it what kind of car could i get for the money, nothing near as good as the Williams!

Mine only comes out to play at weekends, the other times she's tucked up under the cover. Not enjoying this weather though, took her out for spin at the weekend and got covered in salty sh*t after a few miles, should leave her alone till the new year really, but I can't help myself, I miss driving in the week!!

My sierra 4x4 estate got ran into on saturday by a woman in a astra, was well funny her car will be right off and mine had a dint in the passenger rear door. ( i can say it was funny because it was completey her fault and she tried saying i ran into her even though drivers side front wing and bumper and steering was funked on her car. I dont think she liked the fact that she had just been owned by my sierra.)
