I'd like to know what people are using to get their footage.

What sort of resolution do you get? How do you mount the camera? Are you using HD or solid state storage for the clips?

Pretty good footage there, and not bad quality :)

I have looked at bullet cams, and DVI HD packs as well.

Next year will be a year of events and trackdays I hope so I want to get some on camera and a few spirited road drives too with the lads (and lasses ;) ) down here. I am quite handy at video editing so I want to make a compilation etc of the stuff we get up too :)

Sony DCR-HC42E Mini DV with a MANFROTTO CLAM[url=http://www.google.co.uk/products?hl=en&safe=off&q=manfrotto+camera+clamp&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title]MANFROTTO CLAMP(Which are the bollocks by the way)

Would recomend a mini DV or solid state camera/recorder as they are more resistant to vibration (http://www.google.co.uk/products?hl=en&safe=off&q=manfrotto+camera+clamp&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title)

most of the vids iv seen shot with bullet cams have been quite pixelatted tbh.

but then i spose it depends on ur outlay.

try fastfilms mate, i got my mount from there, but he kinda specialises in incar/on bike footage and capturing techniques. very helpful bloke, but for life in me cant remember his name lol.

Thanks, yea. Seems the little packages with the DVR1 kit is quite reasonable, but maybe limited resolution. Quite like the idea of a bullet cam stuck to the exterior of the car.
