View Full Version : Any interest in an oversize rear brake conversion group buy?

Hi guys, how is everyone?

Some of you might know me already from RSC and Retro-Renault.

I'm planning on phoning a few companies up with a view to having an oversize rear brake conversion manufactured for my R19, which of course would also fit Clio 16v and Clio Williams.

I highly doubt any of them will agree to make a one-off set, but with a few people interested the chances of getting a kit designed and fabricated will obviously be a lot higher.

As far as I'm aware there's no "off the shelf" oversize conversions for the rear brakes so I'm hoping this will be of interest to quite a few people, especially those like myself who are running 4-pot calipers on the front.

As yet I've made no enquiries, but if I'm able to negotiate something, would any of you be interested in a group buy?

Regards

Ben

I'm currently running 4 pots on mine so I'd be interested in upgrading the rears

Have you had a look on 106/Saxo tuning company's/forums.
Im pretty sure there was an over sized kit floating around for them.
And they use the same rear calipers, so could be a good starting point.

Yes I am aware that some Peugeot's use the same caliper. I'm currently awaiting for some replies on PSOOC from their members, if I find anything of any use I'll post it up.

Jesus Christ, how can they justify charging that much for a set of discs and caliper carriers!

If you could get hold of the discs separately it should be easy enough to design a carrier, mmmm.

I've been looking at 21 discs too, I thought they were only 255mm though?

If I was going to go the trouble I am doing I'd want something a bit more substantial, but that's just me I guess!

A bit of research I've found the Tarox 325mm kit for the rears on Prima's website for £750, still a fair whack but at least it's under a grand!
