View Full Version : Core plug size
Ok, I went to Renault and they tell me they need the size of the core plug that I need. They say they couldnt tell on their system. It's the core plug above the flywheel on the left hand side of the block:

Any update on the size I need yet Stan? Or anyone :)
Thanks.
It's a 50mm if anyone needs to know. I've taken the bits off around the area now as the leaks have gotten worse. May paste araldite or something over the leaking part, but its a shitty place to reach!
I am seriously hoping I dont have to move the gearbox...
Last time i needed a core plug couldn't find the exact size i needed, so i ended up ordering it from renault

Before xmas I tried ringing them for 2 whole days, permanently engaged! And today, the parts department is shut. Typical!
I think to get access I will have to remove the speed sensor rail from the gearbox. Bloody bitterly cold out there right now so I'll have a go later :(
I was doing a bit yesterday, but takes the enjoyment out of it when its freezing cold
Well, I've just put my cleaned ISCV back on and cleaned airbox and cleaned the offending core plug and dumped a load of metal epoxy putty in the plug area. I hope it holds!
If not, back to plan A with a new core plug.
