ITs slap bang in the middle of my instrument cluster. the manual states its there to show you oil level when the engines not running, however i thought it might have another use once the engines running, such as washer bottle level or someting.

The instruments in the centre console read from left to right, i.e the 3 round dials...

Oil level
Oil temp
Oil pressure

Oil temp will show empty after around 10 seconds of starting the engine, as I presume oil level readings are only accurate when cold.

Slight error, oil level will show empty after running not oil temp

Yeah its the oil level gauge. I just woud have thought it coudl have been made useful once the engines running, such as for washer level, coolant level etc.

Ho hum :D

Lol! Hawk eye!

Too many ''oils'' in the conversation for me! Typo!
