Hi my handling is all over the place at the mo and want to know what bushes i ask for at the renault garage as they didnt know themselves at the Blackpool Renault last time i popped in.

I need the suspension bushes and ARB bushes, would it be worth gettin new track rod ends at the same time and get ym tracking done???

 christ on a bike!! Looks like your local Renault are on the useless list

I don't think you can get the std wishbone bushes separate iirc, I think you need to get new wishbones or get some powerflex jobbers

I'm sure someone on here will be able to get the part numbers for the ARB bushes

Might as well replace the track rod ends & maybe the wishbone ball joints as well, that should sort it out

ok mate if you want to do the track rod ends make sure they undo and not to rusty even with alot of heat mine did not budge i had to change the rod and ends on mine if you want part numbers here they are

R60 00 022 721 TRACK ROD END £38.37 EACH
R60 00 022 720 TRACK ROD END £38.37 EACH
R77 01 469 778 TRACK RODS £38.27 EACH SAME BOTH SIDES

please bare in mind they have changed the design of track rods and ends,
the track rods are now males with the track rod ends being female instead of the other way round so if you are just getting the ends make sure you have female ones on your car or you will need to order males which i dont have part number for. good luck mate its not cheap i know but my car feels great now and if going to keep the car for a while i recomend getting it done

To renew your suspension...

www.buypartsby.com:
R19 Wishbones including the bushes and the ball joint for under £15 per side.

Most Motorfactors:
ARB bushes (or from reno if you prefer)

Eurocarparts:
Track rods/arm + Track Ends - circa £40 perside (these are a Renault Clio 16v item but from others who have used them it seems they work perfectly on the williams track also). Febi/Bilstein product.

From Renault:
Top Mount Kits approx £28 per side
Williams Struts approx £48 per side

Springs:
Option 1 Buy from Renault: Approx £160 the pair
Option 2 Buy from aftermarket specialist who will make OEM 'copied' springs circa £100 the pair (search for a post by mark ritchspeed - he mentioned this many years back - from memory he also mentioned what company could make them).
Option 3 Buy Low mileage 172 (NON CUP) Springs from people selling on cliosport (they are the same as the Williams springs denoted by two white dots) - Normally go for £30 - £50 the pair
Option 4 Buy Low mileage 172 Cup springs from people on Cliosport (denoted by one white and one yellow dot). Slightly stiffer than Williams OEM springs (5-10%) and slightly lower too (3-5mm) - Normally go for £30 - £50 the pair

Small one.

From memory,

Shock absorber with the spring under compression..
Then the Bearing (ensure its the right way up) then what is refered to as the 'top mount' but in its fixed position actually sits underside of the strut housing. Then the small nut goes on.

Assembly placed under the strut housing - then the 'large nut'. Would use an airgun or swan-neck + Allen Key bit (on the end of a ratchet). There is a torque setting to which these should be done up to - dont remember it off hand.

its compressed spring over shock, then top spring plate, bearing, doughnut then the small nut, release spring compressors push shock up into place then wizz top nut on to specified torque

Yes - good description.
I missed the Spring top Plate, but anyone with common sense would know thats a given anyhow.

RR82 00 942 456 - This is the little collar that fits over the rubber doughnut and slides over the piston. It is secured down either by a circlip or the small nut you see in the above pics, depending on strut design.

Not included in top mount kits.
