Had one for 6 weeks, but it was so rusty I had to sell before the bodywork blew away in the wind. :(

Went to see another one on Sunday, but again, it was mega rusty. Mechanically seemed fine though, so would make a great track car. If you want the number, I can get it for you? They wanted £900, but it's not really worth much more than £600. Based in London.

No not really sure what to look out for on them, mate has not long sold his....like shit of a shovel....bit dicy in the wet though...doesn't take a lot to get it to swing out..... :D

Can still pay good money for them and quite a lot have FBMWSH.

Well rust is the main thing to look for. Under the windscreen is worst, near the A-pillar, because you can't do anything about it. Check the inner arches too, particularly the rear ones. Have a poke at the them, and see how solid they are (you can get to them by lifting the carpet on the sides of the boot). And all around the bulk head can be dodgy. And around the rear light clusters. The bodykit hides a multitude of sins too. And make sure the jacking points are ok. (my one had rear arches you could put your finger through from the boot, and leaked like a bitch from water coming in from the jacking points

Other stuff -

The diff can be a bit clonky. Lift off the throttle quickly and it shouldn't..well..clonk. Quite expensive to sort. And if the rear 'crabs' and wobbles over bumps, it's a cheap fix (anti-roll bar bushes). They are all quite tappety, but shouldn't be exessively so.

Oh, and the advert says the manual steering is fast' and 'direct' but that's complete bollocks. They have the most horribly slow rack in the world of cars. Something like 4.5 turns lock to lock  . It's an absolute armful if you're trying to catch some oversteer. Will be looking for a PAS version if I get another.

As you say though, wicked fun. I spent many an hour in my local industrial estate trying (and mostly failing) to master the full roundabout drift

PMSL....doubt I'll be getting one soon.....might save up some cash and get one as a bit of a project once I've got a garage sorted.

Yeah, would be a good project car, 'cos they're worth up to £4k if in mint condition. Here's a picture of my old beast...definately not in mint condition. Check the rear arches!

Gotta agree there cool cars. I actually looked at a E30 M3 before buying the williams. Couldn't decide if I could handle LH drive on my main car :?

yep it was wet, car was new, said i fuked up but i werent over 30mph at the time and the road ahead was clear. i dont fuk about if it aint safe, now shh

KingStromba

Ive owned 2 s12 silvias and driven countless S13's. No way at 30 mph you would get a 90 degree spin without serious throttle abuse, let alone a 360. Loser.

greasy dual lane road raining at the right or wrong angle whichever way u look at it u can do that we a blatt of throttle anyway...u not getting bored yet?

i think agreeing with someone on the complete diffrence of fwd to rwd is hardly trolling or starting ww3 which i fine btw.

back to point not having to use your front wheels for drive as well as direction is one of the reasons why rwd is better, also power from behind (pushing) is more effective than power from the front, boring but constructive
