Did the F7R in 2.0 megane use the JC5, same box as the willy?

What are the differences if not?

Bending my head a bit this.

Which box for a F7R...?

Ive never had any probs with my JB3 from buying the car @ 59k to now retiring it at 109k. Except the syncro has been a bit ****ed for the last 2k in 3rd gear, the odd crunches here and there  But it doesnt seemed to have gotten any worse. I have ragged the tits of the 16v since I bought it, yet the g/box has been fine. Yet a lot on here hate them...?

Is it a different story using a JB3 with an F7R with power differences etc...? Or is it more a case of the JB3 handling the extra power over standard, i.e 137 output as opposed to maybe 180 output...?

Can any JB3 or JC5 box (regardless of last three numbers) be used with F7R, but some mods needed as Justin says, to mounts, to get it to fit..?

Advice please...

yeah either box can be used..JC5 is stronger and JC5 014 had its ratio's matched to an F7R type power band/torque outpput

Cheers Maxi, always reliable 8)

What things wont be a direct swap from my F7P that you know...? Only major things..dont need to list minor things like hoses!

Which head (F7P/F7R) produces best gains with some work done on it..? Dont think im gonna do anything more than cams and a bit of port and polish...

if your after a willy starter, get a 1.9d one from this place

http://www.vehicle-electrics-online.com/

I got one the other day for the old man's van and its identical to a williams one. Its a proper Bosch model and i only cost £70 including VAT and delivery.

Mk2 gearbox mount and MK1 ABS DO NOT WORK

The ABS fouls quite badly on the MK2 style top gearbox mount, so if your valver has ABS don't even consider running a gearbox with the MK2 top mount unless you want to move/remove the pump.
