Clutchcable replacement?

Mine has been replaced, but looking at it today, am not sure it's right

It goes through the bulkhead, and below the PAS rack, but is tight so is actually touching the rubber grommet/gaitor thing.

Is this right, or should it go over the rack??

should come straight down out the bulkhead and round under the steering column then across the back of the subframe so kind of up over the top of the rack
