I'd say lambda sensor.

can anyone tell me exactly what the lambda sensor is? and hpow to check it, and if u can clean it.....or any details infact.

It sits at the bottom of the downpipe, links into the engine management and measures the temperature/mix of the exhaust gases and the car's ECU adjusts accordingly.

Not that easy to change/clean, better off getting a new one...
