may sound a lil' n00bish but can you remove a willy subframe without removing the engine? if so, is it easy?

yes very easy. self explanatory tbh. only barstard is removing the rack, pinch bolt is v awkward, otherwise unbolt the rack from teh frame. need a guide really to explain.

downpipe must be removed so you need to reseal the exhaust afterwards

easy enough mate if no bolts round off or the captive nuts in chassis legs for the rear main frame bolts dont shear off, but even then you can prise the clips out and get a spanner in

need to remove bumper/slash gaurds etc, remove downpipe/unplug lambda and ensure wiring isnt snagged on frame, undo dogbone, undo clutch cable where it clips to rear of frame, undo 4 bolts holding rack to frame and withdraw if can, undo pinch bolts to bottom ball joints, undo 2 mini struts from frame to inside of each wheel arch, undo the 4 main subframe bolts (put jack under frame to support (only if jack doesnt mind, if he does use john)) and lower gently, freeing off snagging on rack bolts and bottom ball joints as you go and anything else i may of forgotten
