Advice on engine swap plz

I need to get my valver engine out to change little ends. was thinkin maybe just find a 2.0williams or maybe 172 engine to go in instead.

The only thing is i know my valver engine is relatively good. new rings, big end bearings and main bearings, all new seals and the head has been sent off to be fully skimmed, decoked, new seals and everything.

Just wanted to know what every1 else thinks?

I'd rather have a decent 2.0 over a rebuilt 1.8, my 2 pence

yeah i would have to know that its in good condition though. i would probably end up rebuilding it to make sure anyway so will cost me loads.

wheras if i find a 172 lump i would assume its ok been a newer engine.

172 is a lot of effort for what it's worth, you'd ideally want a mk1 172 in which case the youngest one would be 2000, still 8 years old.

Stick with an F7R 8)

yeah i agree but im gonna stick with the 1.8 and make sure that runs nice. then upgrade when i get bored a bit later. I would only be able to sell the valver if it runs well anyway.
