Is this the stuff I need?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EXHAUST-MANIFOLD-HEAT-WRAP-TAPE-FIBREGLASS-2-x10-Meter_W0QQitemZ230290039592QQcmdZViewItem?hash=ite m230290039592&_trkparms=39%3A2%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A1%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

I suppose one heat wrap is going to be as good as another?

Someone (coops?) recently mentioned how much they used - it was something silly like 4 or 5 metres I think!

A lot of the stainless steel 'exhaust wrap' ties I looked at are only rated up to 150 degrees or so. I didn't think this was enough bearing in mind the proximity to the heat of exhaust gases so I sourced some that were good up to 538 degrees C (which should be enough!) from these guys:

The only problem was that I had to buy 100 of the things to get them. But that does mean that I have about 90 of the things spare and could do them for a very good price if anyone is interested - cheaper than anything else you would see and these are the real deal in terms of their spec.
