i have a 1.8 valver and happen to have dropped on a cheap 182 engine, gearbox, loom, ecu and brakes if i need.

could i fit this in my valver ?

Don't see why not as a couple of people have done a 172 lump?

simple answer: no

longer answer: its not worth the hassle as it is fly by wire throttle, you would need to either find a way of getting the fly by wire throttle to work, or buy a phase1 172 cable throttle setup, loom and ecu and get that to work on the 182 engine

anything is possible though

yeah i thought about the fly by wire thing and could try and get a 172 throttle body.

other problems i was thinkin are 182's are electronic speedo so i might have to use my g'box. also keys for 182 are coded so there would be an immobiliser problem.

tempted to try it though there will be a way round it :D

Use stand alone and you'll be fine

ecu can be decoded or immobiliser bypassed with an emulator (what mine uses)

there will be wyas round everything, just some are more expensive than others lol

182 engine will go in, but you'll need a 172 manifold (182 one wont physically fit), ph1 ecu, loom and throttle body with cable throttle... although somewhere like GDI could probably fit with all OEM 182 parts including FBW probably. May need a stack dash to get a speedo reading though.

18poo engine will go in, but you'll need a 17poo manifold (18poo one wont physically fit), ph1 ecu, loom and throttle body with cable throttle... although somewhere like GDI could probably fit with all OEM 18poo parts including FBW probably. May need a stack dash to get a speedo reading though.

ok sound i might even be able to have a 172 engine instead which would be easier i suppose. and cheaper. do a lot of ppl put 172 lumps in valvers and do they go straight in with the original engine mounts etc?

if so the 182 lump and other bits would be for sale. :D

it's been done a few times and is a fairly straight forward swap for someone mechanically minded (ie not me!).
