Im testing the water with this. Its one of those items which is 100% worth keeping as a spare (which is what I will do if theres no intrest or the asking price isnt met), but on the same note I probably wont use it as Ive bought a different transmission.

Its a JB3 gearbox, with Avanti GrpA internals. This is a bespoke gear-cluster with considerably lower and closer ratios then standard. This makes it ideal for sprint/hillclimbs or rallying. It has a standard differential fitted currently, but theres plenty of options out there for LSD's. Avanti also supply these.

The gear-set alone is £2500 new. This obviously doesnt include casings or labour to have it built up.

It has the following ratios: 1st: 11/32 2nd: 15/32, 3rd: 19/32 4th: 22/30 5th: 25/29

It hasnt been used since about 2005. It was used for gravel and tarmac rallying. The synchros were changed not long before I bought it. The rest was obviously inspected etc when it was apart, all found to be perfect...no chipped teeth etc etc.
The previous owner had it rebuilt every season of racing.

It kinda goes without saying that this isnt suitable for road use, so im guessing it wont be appropriate for 75% of forum users. However for those competing or even for serious trackdays, it will be a massive benefit to your car. Its these people who will appreciate how rare these are, and how much they are desired/required.

As said, cost new is £2500+casings and labour

I would be happy with £1500

What would be the top speed in 5th gear with this box then?

depends on rpm and wheels/tyres obviously,

but on 195/50/15's

110mph@ 7000rpm
70mph@ 4500rpm

1st/2nd/3rd are VERY close.
