No, they were not lacquered originally.

probably means an arch repair and the body shop didnt replace the stickers, they simply repainted and the lacquer has over sprayed and they kept going to tie it all in.

I need to replace one of mine but there could be lacquer on one of them. Any ideas on what I need to do to remove it?

If they arent the originals, my guess is they will be a piece of piss to remove as they shouldnt really be that old tbh.... but as titch says...

They're not too bad actually to remove - I took the bootlid one off without any tools just started pulling slowly and off she came - give the area a good polishing before applying any others as you may find the williams outline etched into the old paint.

Handily this gives you a good guide to put on the new one! :D

I think these are the originals. I'll put it on my list of things to do!

trouble is whole lot will be laquered so any attempt to sand out or anything will leave an un-laquered area

you can either get the arches redone... or...

check your new decals with your old ones while they are on the car, if they are the same size and spacing, you can get away with cutting the old ones out and replacing with the new ones... personally i would seal them with a light coat of lacquer to stop water getting under the paint etc.. but this will do the trick

I hate messing with bodywork stuff, I dont have a good place to do work as I have no garage and I dont like the idea of cutting up bodypaint! Think I'll just leave it for now.

If it was just on top of the paint you really don't need a knife - if its a cold day a bit of heat wouldn't go amiss but don't go ott or you could pull off more than you want!

Wobba whats wrong with them at the moment? if they're where they need to be then I guess for now you could stick some decals over the existing provided they were lined up perfectly and no-one would know
