I know this is a boring topic and probably been asked a million times but never mind.

Mine seems to be using around £20 worth of fuel in around 90 miles is this around the normal. I think it could be my driving as my 300+ bhp Focus ST is currently sitting at 21mpg

I just got 39mpg in mine.

It did 364 miles to just under a 1/4.

If i drive hard though my prev mpg for the same run was 29mpg and i saw high 200's from that.

£20/90miles sounds about right.

I get 300 miles or so to a full tank, which is about 30mpg, which costs about £54 at the moment, which is about 3x the £20/90miles :)

I wouldn't say its got a drinkin problem, you have to remember that £20 doesn't get you as much jungle juice as it did 12 months ago

I can get 330 ish out of a full tank on a steady run, and 270/280 when givin it some hammer :D

First post, Hello everyone - I'm Point8 from cliosport if anyones seen me before.

It's very probable that your lambda sensor is fooked. Is your idle lumpy and have you ever had ridiculous dead spots in the lower rev range with small throttle openings? that and bad MPG all points to a lambda.

£20/90miles sounds about right to me too. It's nearly twice as much as my Clio mk1 used to gobble up, but worth the extra for the extra fun. Approaching £20/80 since the thread was started and I use 99 Octane.

You need to get an average from a full to empty tank though. You can get 3 times round the world on the first half tank then need to hurridly find a garage for the second half ; )

Not a cheap luxury considering the £190 road tax, group 17 insurance and diminishing parts. But still worth it : )

I get about 270 miles to a full tank. I'll be replacing my lambda soone enough, if I can get the bugger off! Hope I can or else it'll be a search for a downpipe, and my current one is wrapped in heat wrap.

They're not too expensive, are they - might get mine done as 300 miles a tank is getting tiresome...

It's not so much the economy for me but the slightly annoying throttle and idle behaviour which I am sure is the lambda!

My economy has taken a nose dive recently, it smells like its running rich too. Bum.

Williams is far better on fuel than the 182. Also, 182 does feel alot more exp as i'm now using opti.

What a bump.

First post, Hello everyone - I'm Point8 from cliosport if anyones seen me before.

It's very probable that your lambda sensor is fooked. Is your idle lumpy and have you ever had ridiculous dead spots in the lower rev range with small throttle openings? that and bad MPG all points to a lambda.

i'm having all the same problems as wobba, i hav done a full service on the car including plugs, leads, dist cap and rotor, fuel filter and cleaned the air filter, tb and inlet, i hav also changed the lambda sensor aswell and i'm still having the same problems, my next port of call is to clean the icv and see if that makes any difference, any other ideas??

If it's the revs whilst idling that's the issue, then best thing you can do, and I always do anyway with a Clio I know little about, is clean the ISCV with carb cleaner and cotton buds.

On anotehr note, this weekend when I have the car apart again for a suspension overhaul is give the gearbox earth a major scrubbing! I have the added bonus of the Megane engine earth as well though so I doubt it's that.

Bump

I just got 265 miles out of 40 quid at 108.9p a litre, so 32.80mpg

thats mixed driving, lots of short journeys to work and few blasts on d/c plus a spank over cat and fiddle.

about right?

My last tank I got 300 almost dead on to a tank of RON 99. Better than usual This was due to there being no school runs to deal with for a week.

I'm struggling to dip below 40mpg atm, currently on 41.9 after spending this evening parked on the m25/a12
