Very very close matey cutoff is 96+ for a summons. It doesnt take much to put it up that much too! Well suppose its just 3 points, i think pretty much everyone now a days has 3 points on their license due to the number of speed cameras on the road/positioned in places that catch everyone out!

100 is the cut off usually. I've heard of people being done for just under by some coppers in order that they escape too hefty a punishment.

lol.. nothing to do with me!

you can argue it.. go get a garage rport on your speedometer.. saying its defective..

24-06-2005, 17:36
well thats what it started on the peice of paper the under cover copper had with him when he pulled me. I think its up to their discretion tho for a summons, not a ban if its below 100 just they can choose if its a summons, it does state its a mandatory summons tho anything above 97MPH but it all depends i suppose.

100 is a definate summons tho!

depends on officers workload... speeding offences means self generated work.. you have the greatest power of them all.. discretion...

hmm i have been pulled at 98.7 and he let me off which was nice, but i also go pulled at 107 and only got 3 points and 60 quid, which was rather fortunate but it was 4am in the morning and i think the copper took pitty on me as i had about a 150 miles left to drive

Mate im well gutted for you...did you get blue lights behind or did u admit defeat and pull in.

Remember when i got points in the skoda...he was a right twat.

Well your insurance wont go up at all mate...even if it does it will only be around £30.

what was happening for you to be doing 95 ?

Yep I saw him at the side of the road, I slammed on, but twas too late, he pulled out on M/way whacked the lights on and came after me hehe

I wasn;t racing anything, I had only just got on the motorway and like to give it a quick blast then settle down into a normal pace, unfortunatly he got me on that period

My mate just got caught doing 84 in a 40, you lot reckon he will get banned ?? They took his actual licence off him there and then and told him to bring the rest of his docs to the station in a week.

MrAtego

Would think he will get some kind of ban, normally anything 30mph over the limit is an automatic ban unless there are extreme circumstances, ie he needs his licese for his job and even then its the magistrates decision. (unless you are a royal or a footballer)
