Just wanted to share with you what was initially going to be a quick and easy job - replacing the front arch liners....

14 years of smeg hiding behind the drivers side liner....

rust and crap everywhere.....

Now the worst bit was when I looked behind the panel whre the bumber, plastic arch and frame come together.... obviously an area which missed Renault's anti-corrosion programme.....

After much rubing down, treatment with Dinitrol, priming and wayoxyl the areas were ready to put the new liners on....

For those of you that havn't checked your car.... I would suggst you have a look behind your liners.....

good work ive been working on the back end of my hybrid, done the full boot floor and both rear archs, took ages to attack the rust and treat it then seal etc, only the rest of the car to go! :x

eye thats a common mud trap. My 3 never needed doing though however 0171 had loads lol. The mud holds the water then rots the metal out

The bit of rust you have found is a common rot spot. Easy to let new metal in though.

Take your headlight out and u will find aload more lol

  I've just got over the shock of what I found when I removed my arch liners..... TBH my front frame didn't appear that bad when I took my bumper off, but as you say, it's the bits you can't see....

haha directly under the front light is a big water trap - u will probally find some underseal bubbling - scratch it off and watch that hole get bigger haha
