Hi guys,
sorry for it being wrong model car, but desperately need help.
Wifes clio mk1 auto is stuck in 1st gear (won't go beyond 1st), and she is a mobile car worker, and basically had to abandon her car today so she can't work :( I have topped it up with trans fluid, the ecu light was not coming on before or after this so I am pretty much ruling out fluid loss.
Only thing I can think of is possible alternator or ecu fault. I did leave the bonnet open in the rain for 5 minutes 2 weeks ago and the car wouldn't start (I was putting on new brake discs and was er.. in the moment ;)) till the next day. Ran fine for 2 weeks though until now.
If anyone knows another fault why it won't change gear other lack of transmission fluid, please let me know. (or alternatively can remind me of that orange and white renault forum that I can no longer seem to find)
BTW.. looked at some pics of my 1.8 16v, and kinda miss it now :*(
