I have the gasket, but would it be worth it to use silicone gasket sealant as well?

a little bit wont harm anything. Better to be safe than sorry once its all back together

Yea as long as I dont get the gasket itself messy with the stuff, I think it would be a good idea. Think I'll do that then.

we have some at work if you want the part number, its what the lads in the workshop use on all the water pumps they fit, especially favoured by the 2 older technicians who seem to have used every type their is

Cheers BRUN. Do they bother with the gasket itself?

I have been too knackered and it's been raining so much I've not yet put the new pump on...hopefully will do in next day or two though.

Also, is there a torqueing up of the water pump bolts? When I took it off the bolts were not tight at all...
