HAs anyone got a spare willy or 16v ecu that they could open the lid and photograph the internals.. i need to know which way round the chip goes in, and if the chip i have is a genuine williams one.
many thanks in advance...

Most chips have a small dot in the top right hand corner, or a cutout in the middle at one end - that indicates PIN1 on the chip... If there's a socket on the PCB that too should have an identifiying mark to signify PIN1.
Hope that helps...

If it is a williams ecu that you are fitting the chip to then its the same as the early 16v type ecu.
Looking into the box with the connector away from you all of the chips have their PIN 1 indent facing the connector , the chip you fit goes in the same way as all the others.
