is there any way to tell which size wheel bearing i need without measuring? like by model, year, whether it has (had ;)) abs?

need to get one bought but the car is about 50 miles away so measuring it is a tad difficult :(

Don't think they was any wheel bearing variations on the 16v's.

As above!

Thinking about it, aren't the bearings the same across the whole range??

I might be going mad though  lol

are the wheel hubs the same accross the range?

i have a 16v with worn front wheel bearings and a 1.2rn which i took off the road ages ago just after i got the bearings renewed. i was thinkin bout just putting the hubs on.????

Yeah some models have the same hub size as the 16v so only way to know is to check when you take the bearing out, unless you know for sure the hub hasnt been swapped.

I just bought both and took the wrong size back.

That would involve swapping the hub carrier/stub axle (whatever you wan't to call it) - won't work as the strut spacing holes are a different size (ie not 54mm) on the 1.2 so won't mate with your 16v shox.

AFAIK there are different hub/beraring size outside 16v.
