The cup racer im sure used to pop and fart a lot when backing off the throttle when other people had it.

Since i have driven it ,it doesnt seem to do it, i remeber my old valver many moons ago used to bang and pop on demand on over run and little tap on the pedel.

Why would this be ?

my 117k valver lump used to do it on demand! :D

now that i've got a rebuilt lump it seems not to do it at all! i blame the brand new piston rings :(

What type of exhaust you got? Mine never used to do it with the old system but since I had the new one fitted last week (Magnex back box with powerflow centre section) it pops and bangs all the time on the over run, can't get enough of it, sounds amazing!!

Nothing changed on the car.....

The exhaust was welding up so its on piece (backbox and center section) but dont see how that could be making any difference.

I guess it's only back pressure related or is it cam timing aswell ?

it overfuels on over-run, it'll pop with a decat or atleast should.

It's actually running lean on overrun that causes it

I imagine it has something to do with changing gas pressures and vacuum withing the exhaust system or something...
