mot failure

my car failed its mot today.

reason for refusal was..offside front (inner sill at seam at floor) seat belt anchorage prescribed area is excessively corroded.

ive had a look by pulling back the carpet to check inner sill and it looks fine. also checked underneath at sill also looks ok.

am i looking in the wrong places..? can anyone help ?

you need to look behind the sill....get the car up in the air and have a look...get some pictures up if u get chance

ive had a better look and seen a small hole underneath about 2 inches long.
can it just get a plate welded in or is it gonna be a bigger job than that ?

normally its 100% worse once the underseal is removed....clean back to good metal and get new metal welded in!

Yeah - my sill welding was a whole new sill and my wallet lightened to the tune of about £400! :shock: :? :roll: :lol:

ive cleaned up the holed area ...think it can be plated but ill find out on monday when it goes in to get fixed. 8-[
