......a big chuffing hole in the floor!

It's rotten straight through where the brake pipe cover secures to.

Now i can weld a plate in on both sides (trickier underneath 'coz of the brake pipes, but how can i now secure the brake pipe cover?

Cheers guys,

Al

i had a hole in my floor when i took the tar off, not as big as that like, but i got rid of the shit and welded a plate on the top of it, then welded it from underneath too, couldnt stick a plate underneath due to the position of the hole, but all id do with yours is drop the lines and do as you said weld a plate both ontop and underneath then drill a hole and nut/bolt the shield on where the std fitting was.

Cheers mate - given me an idea

I'd be better off doing the bottom plate first, weld it in place, then drill a hole for the fitting, and weld a nut onto the other side, or i wouldn't be able to get it out again once the top plate was welded in.

Sounds like fun
