View Full Version : newbie with valver with engine out ! ! !

hi all, been told cs is too dedicated to mk2 and to register here, but i c alot of peeps from ova there are on here to and will already no im replacing my gearbox and do not have much experience. it finally got taken out last nite and im gna service it and clean it.
i bought a clarke engine stand but cant work out how to get my engine on it? ie four bolts? any ideas? pics?

the holes on the gearbox that mount it to engine should be to mount it to the engine stand mate,

Hmmmm interesting does it have two supports running down the lip of the sump and rear engine mount?

You have to remove the flywheel and it bolts through the gearbox mounting holes/bolts......Trail and error till you get a good set up.

I told this guy to come on here as we all share the same engine. people on here are more helpfull than cliosport. Only go on there if you have an engine mount problem. They seem to be common on there :)

nice one guys, i had the gearbox off las nite and wasnt sure if you needed to remove flywheel,cuse i really couldnt see how it went on, i will enquire wen i finish doing nothin at work!

maybe she'll be ready to run up the track at santa pod, gtta work on my launch? 3000rpm?

hehe, shows the low down torque difference between teh 8v and 16v enginem, i laugch mine at 2k revs, anything higher and when you drop teh clutch it just spins the wheels to fook
