ive had my clio 16v about 2 years now, when i bought it the bloke sed it was a williams lump fitted, really quick 2, quicker than my mates valver about a month ago my rad went pop and while i was changing it i noticed the engine code on the block was f7p? i thought the bloke who had it before had probley just swapped the plate, then after sorting the rad one of my plugs went down so while i was changing them i thought i.l measure the stroke? the strokes the same as the standard valver? great ive bin blagged? then after that my ecu went for a swim with all this cak weather? so ive took it out hoping to dry it out but the ecu,s a williams? does any one know whats what? :?:

Guess he could have stuck a williams ECU on it and the different map might be getting more power than a standard 1.8 lump?

What does it redline at? 6.5k? 7k?

Where does the power come in? 3k? 4.5k?

williams is blue dot or summat lol.

But if its a F7P stroke then you've been had. No question about it.

Also whats the tag on the gearbox... JC5 014 is williams.

The dots on the dipstick just dictate the mod state on the 19's.
The dipsticks are easily swapped.
Not very accurate to determine the engines origins with that.

Have a look at the back of the block and see if it has any strengthening veins

Thats what I would normally recommend as externally its the only way to be 100% sure, though as some others have said if you have already measured the stroke and it matches that of a valver I wouldn't get your hopes up.
