JC5 gearbox codes

I have a fullt refurbished (from CTS) JC5 box. However I have just realised the code os 037, not 014. Does anyone know what car this type of box came from? What effect will it have if I put it on the Williams?

Is the 014 box the only one to have the baffles in? If the 037 box is fully refurbed will it be OK?

Otherwise, could be another expensive mistake...... :oops: :oops:

Wonder if it's a JC5 from a megane or something?

If you've got another JC5 to compare it to, see if the bolt holes are the same, see if the starter motor fits in the same place, etc.

If the boxes look identical, it'll be fine to use, just the ratios might be slightly different.

ha! just found out the 037 was from a Laguna 2.0 16v - I would suggest that it is not going to fit a Willy then.....

Maxiboy, are you sure, it's the correct ratio of the 037? Please, don't think I doubt you but I'd like to know the correct data of the 037. Last year I wrote "renault gearboxes" PC program for the Hungarian Renault Club and I need to update it with correct datas.
I'm not sure the Renault gearbox pdf which is grabbed from Dialogys is absolutely correct. It was the base of the program database but it says that the ratio of the 037 is:
1st: 11/37
2nd: 22/41
3rd: 28/39
4th: 31/34
5th: 37/33

differential ratio: 15/61
