Just bought these dry sumps. All fit an F7R/F7P. Intend to use 1 on the cup and 1 on the williams. The other 1 is spare/maybe for sale if anyone is interested ;)

Dry sumps have many advantages, not just for preventing oil starvation (which really isn't an issue on these lumps anyway) but its a good way to free up quite a few ponies, which most people seem to overlook ;) :P

isnt it something to do with the crank movement? it takes more energy to move a crank shaft through oil (sort of like when you try and move your hand underwater) which decreases the effiency of the engine. whereas in a dry sump you dont have this, meaning the crankshaft can move freely without restriction (apart from bearing friction of course)

something along those lines anyway

the crank isn't submerged in oil in the wet sump system anyway, however it may incounter a little bit of surge

This isn't where the major gains are to be had, keep trying

not fully submerged, but i thought with cornering forces it sloshes about into the crank?

extra power comes from extra cooling due to the external route the oil takes?

i believe that the reason you can free up some ponies with these kits is because they dramatically reduce pressure in the bottom end and can also run in a vaccuum, which causes less pressure against the pistons etc. i dont know if this is true but it sounds good so that will do for me!

my thougts on these are that they were used for formula reno cars, as a way of lowering the engine, and the COG more than for producing power.

wouldnt the maxis and works cars have had these if they were intended for the clios?? or do they?
