Hi I just joined as i'm looking for a Williams gearbox.

My car is a 1995 16v in Monaco blue. It is currently lowered 60/70mm, has a IK and Magnex SS exhaust with de-cat.

Its currently off the road as I broke the racing at York last Sunday. This is the 2nd one in 2 months which is the reason for me wanting the stronger Williams box.

My car has run a best of 15.48@88mph which apparently isn't bad for a standard engined Valver.

See ya

Yeh the box got me to Howden then I got my mate to take me home on his recovery wagon.

The one I broke last month worked aswell, just all the oil dumped out of the big hole in the diff.

I stripped my old box, and it's the 3rd gear selector fork thats snapped in half. Is this the normal problem with them? The one I broke last Sunday did the same thing lol. They're not very meaty though which is a problem. The main shaft end bearing (not the one in the bell housing) had started to go aswell. Hopefully the box I broke on Sunday will be saveable with some uprated selector forks and the casing welded up but i'll have to wait and see.

See ya

mainly diffs tbh mate, and diff pins etc

never had a prob with me valver box, dragged that and generally abused the fuk out of it for 2 years......got 2 years out the willy box after i bought the car.2 in 12 months so far since the rebuild tho, altho the one thats in now seems to be a lot better than the recon unit i put in at the build, and its an untouched 50k er apparently. was lucky to find it tho spesh at the price

On mine the selector fork snapped, and its gone through the box and out into the diff, which has wiped a few teeth off the pinion. I get the car back tomorrow so i'll take the last one I broke out and strip that see if its the same.

I'll just have to drive steadier then I haven't got enough £££ to keep changing gearboxes.

See ya
