very nice , 8) like the number plate aswell

fillip

Yes number plate was a bonus!

Mileage is 115000 full renault service history including some big bills already paid out for.
Found a rolling road print out from 2003 which said it had 152.8bhp
The car was clearly looked after what ever the cost lots of reciepts.

Came with Toad alarm which is a hell of alot better than the infra red remote locking and alarm i had on my valver!

TBH main reason for wanting a three was because of the sunroof lol

Does anyone else get scrubbing on full lock sometimes?

bill.

make sure you sort out your leaking sunroof

sounds like a well looked after ,healthy williams,

it should not be scrubbing on full lock , unless its been lowered.
my old williams was lowered and scrubbed quited a bit , but the new one on standard hieght doesnt at all.

any chance you can take a side on pic

lol my valver sunroof only ever leaked once and that was in some seriously heavy rain!

Yer i'll get a picture, the previous owner said something about the front coil springs being replaced a few years back for an MOT but he didnt say they were lowering springs? I'll post a pic up this evening and also i'll have a proper look through the reciepts to find out if they are renault ones.

Nice! Nice to see another Willy 3 owner here :) How much did you end up splashing out for her if you don't mind me asking?

It was from gloustershire, advertised in a local paper but came up on a google search it wasnt advertised in autotrader, pistonheads etc.

Well i wont disclose the price but it was cheaper than any for sale on ebay autotrader and pistonheads at the moment and just fell into my budget with a bit of haggling.

:D

Ah good stuff mate! Google never fails to impress on a daily basis... as it searches all sorts of documents on the web, not sure web pages.

No.

Usually a result of the front end being lowered.

Does not look lowered though...

Check the fitting of the inner mudguards and make sure they are set right or if there is a bit out of place. Check for a broken spring as well, they can break but still feel ok so it may not seem like anything is busted.

Well done with the purchase though! Get some new pics up soon :D

Is it at speed or just trickling round corners?

Jamie.
01-07-2008, 19:57
Can't see him applying full lock at speed Daz tbh.

First thing I'd change on that would be the ditchfinder tyres!!

I was talking anything higher than creeping speed - i.e full lock corner on a car park

Jamie.
01-07-2008, 20:38
Yeh, I didn't actually think you were driving round taking bends at full lock whipping the wheel round!

Only time i ever got rubbing was when it was on some silly low springs, had some avo -25mm on for a while and didn't scrub with those.

I have some pics to go up for tomoro.

I have pics of the springs which have two white painted lines on them?
Does this mean they are lowering springs?

Scrubing happens only on full lock from what i can tell and not at speed lol.

Also on the way back from the guy i bought it off something hit the driver footwell then hit my windscreen (me following behind in the 172 mate driving the willy). After that the ABS light came on. Took wheels off this evening and there is no teeth on the driver side hub. Can the reluctor rings come off? The passenger side is fine.

:?

MatBrown
01-07-2008, 23:18
Yes, the reluctor are just pressed onto the shafts so if they crack they can fall off.

What on earth is a reluctor?

I find something new out about these cars every week! lol

They are standard springs but could be missing the bottom coil, what size tyres are they?

Mat.

fillip
03-07-2008, 21:58
They are standard size 185/55/15's the guy i bought it off only put the tyres on just before i bought it. My wheel alignment is out would that cause scrubbing? how would i kno if the coils have been cut?

Does anyone live nearby who could maybe have a mini meet take some pics of the cars etc and also so i could do some comparisons to see wat else on the car isnt normal?

Joel

Lovely Motor.. 8)

Daz.
04-07-2008, 07:14
I'd hazard a guess that its the splash guards hitting the wheel

fillip
04-07-2008, 08:32
Does it look standard height?

Anyone nearby up for a mini meet?

Duli
04-07-2008, 10:03
no thats not standard height, its about 20mm lower than original.

fillip
04-07-2008, 11:13
I need to rummage back through the reciepts and find out where they are from, hmm i may want to swap for standard springs if anyones interested.

Cars going in for wheel alignment today will see if that sorts out the scrubbing

Jamie.
04-07-2008, 19:49
Not sure it looks like that much lower....

The springs were replaced fairly recently so dont think its soggy suspension plug car feels firm when u give it a bounce! Still scrubbing after wheel alignment only does it on one lock iv not realised so going to check out the lining wen i get a chance. Wheel alignment didnt go well they couldnt of done it properly still have steering wheel slightly left to go straight line.

Thanks for aall the help and feedback guys much appreciated :D
