You know like the thing you do with dialogies, can i do a similar thing on my pc with vista and XP, so i can run programms that only work in XP, got some specialist software that dont' even work in compatability mode

you could dual boot using something like LILO or Grub

I asked the question when i brought the laptop, if i could have XP installed instead, and was told half the features of the laptop wouldn't work with XP

But yes, if you mean my "dialogies virtual image" then yes you can.

Easy enough...install microsoft virtual pc 2007, create a new virtual image then you can get it to boot off and install from a xp/vista installation disc.
