Front page news in this weeks issue of "Motorsports News" Renault are hoping to return to the top echelon of rallying in 2009/2010 :wink: :lol: with a purpose built rally car ,based on the new shape/model (unreleased ) Megane

About fooking time, I read about in the MSN it seems the new S2000 regs are attracting a fair few manufactures back into the WRC which can only be a good thing and after seeing Higgins in the MG S2000 live they are pretty exciting to to watch so fingers crossed it's a positive step 8)

Think they all are running a common transmission made by SADEV to reduce costs and development time :D

FIA specifications include the following:

Derived from production model, of which 2500 have been produced in the past year
Maximum of 2 liter (2000 cc) displacement
Maximum of 280 bhp[citation needed]
Normal Aspiration
All wheel drive is permitted in rally cars, but not in touring cars.
6-speed sequential gearbox (Control specification made by Sadev, Xtrac or Ricardo. No electronics allowed in differentials)
Front and rear McPherson suspension
No electronic driver aids
Must be for sale at a maximum price of €168,000.[10]
