Is it illegal to make the front number plate slightly smaller?

I hate the way it hangs over the bottomof the bumper on english cars. French number plates look a load betteron Williams because they are smaller.

I never had any problems with this....even when the police took an unhealthy interest in the car.

Out of interest Martin have you ever seen the Pug sport air intakes?

They are long and thin and sit on the top of the engine and scoop air into the pipe on the side?

You should fit one in the front bumper (where the number plate is) and move the munber plate to the side somewhere. Everyone i know who has had one fitted said they make a big difference. Obviously i cant owning a Williams, but might be worth looking into. Ive looked and it would fit. But youd need to cut a slice in the bumper (where the number plate now sits.

Look at that track car for sale by fmp on cliosport. He has one fitted i think.

It actually sits ontop of the engine and pokes out of the front grill.

hmm you sure it will fit looks a bit big to fit? Direct air feed is the way to go...was considering hole in the bonnet and a viper style intake

Youd have to get some measurements. The pipe may squeeze through the gap between the rad and the frame to the right of the rad.

I used to have a pug with an ecosse forced air induction kit on it:

and simota do one here:

I bought the ecosse one for £200, wasnt cheap but pretty good. Might be a good idea researching those but it would be a tight fit/almost impossible.

registration plate must be regulation sizing, not adjusted.. spacing and font size must be correct or you commit an offence.
repeated offenders have their plate seized and striken off by dvla... usually a fine... of £30 or if the copper decides to summons you, then a rather hefty fine can be given
