Atleast I'm fairly sure it did
was driving down the M1 yesterday at about 20mph (traffic) when the car started surging. few moments later it cut out completely.
fuel pump wouldnt not prime/run at all. I probed around a bit with my multimeter - it was getting the 12v pulse to prime, but not priming. the earths were fine. there is a red wire leading into the pump too, which i thought was a constant live, but this was giving 0v (i've since checked this on MKR and that one is 0v too, so must be something else
anyway, i think its dead! (which might also explain my prior poor performance?)
few questions, I think it's a ph1 pump as its the same as my J plater - what pressure rating are these? if its a 1.2bar pump, is it likely to be stressed trying to fuel a 172 engine?
also, if it's a low bar pump, can i fit a higher pressure one? direct swap?
to take the pump out, do I need to drop the tank? :( haynes is telling me to take my exhaust etc off  - far too much effort! :D
I have a spare pump, but just looked at the rating at it says 1.2bar :( - but it looks different to the pumps in the cars already
heres a pic of the pump in the car
