what have people replaced the sunroof with? I fancy welding a plate in, but I don't know how hard it'll be :oops:

better to bond either a thin metal or alloy sheet in as welding will cause distortion...could just fit a carbon roof skin or replace the whole roof from a lower spec model.

i just orded a piece of ally from t'bay, it was about 25 qui deliverd. i'll post pics when i do it if ya like

as above tiger seal and maybe a few counter sunk rivets until it goes off..

i replaced mine with a steel sheet, its rivited all the way around and full bonded on, doesnt leak one bit and much lighter the std!

im doing the same as richy this weekend but im using alloy then going to spray it matt black, you could buy a piece of carbon fibre for around 60 quid

alli sheet is proberly best bet, just i used to be able to get tons of sheet steel free, only thin stuff too!

ok i did mine today and took a few snaps

1 piece of 1.5mm alloy 1000x500mm cost 21quid

cut to size and i rounded the corners as it looks a bit better

next i masked up and marked up for drilling

next job remove sunroof and give the roof a clean

i marked out were the alloy wanted t go so i had a guide on were to apply sealent

run a bead of sealent around and layed the alloy on holding it with ductape and started rivveting

job done, im going to paint it black i think when i do the interior

i saved just under 5kg in total, thats with a manual sunroof,
