View Full Version : melted a driveshaft boot
as above. the heat from the downpipe has melted the inner boot on the drivers side driveshaft. the grease has got out and theres a bit of knoocking when its hot, i dont think ive damaged the bearings so a new boot and grease should fix it
trouble is itll keep melting....can you get heat resistant shaft boots?? or will i have to max up a heat sheild??
downpipes had a heatsheld originally 8)

i had to remove the heatsheild as i altered my valver downpipe for use with a williams 4branch think im going to have to modify that and replace it then
heat wrap is your friend mate, get on ebay, wrap the exhaust, job done
seems it hadnt melted, had a perfect split in it, swapped the driveshaft but think i need to do the wheel bearings as its making some funky noises
also maxxed the heatsheild on till i get some heatwrap 8)
