right i went to try and get some new driveshafts for the clio 1.8 16V and the guy ask what gearbox it's for (eg JB3 or JC5) so i told him i've got a JB3 just now but i'm going to fit a JC5 and i ask whats the differents and he said the JC5 driveshafts are longer than the JB3 driveshafts.
so the problem is do i order the short driveshafts for the JB3 to fit to my JC5 or do i order the longer driveshafts that for the JC5 to fit the JC5.

i thought the JC5 was fitted to the 2.0 16V williams only and the 1.8 16V was JB3 but he showed the book and it had clio 1.8 16V JB3 and clio 1.8 16V JC5 unless there a misprint in the book :?

ignore the man and his book , jc5, jb3, jb1 all have same fitment for shafts. order the jb3 shafts, but when you get them make sure theyre thick like the OE shafts. his book is probably misprinted and should say 2.0 16v jc5

The only time you need different longer driveshafts is if you have the williams widetrack fitted, if you are running the standard valver track then its the same length for all gearboxes.
