Yeah that is awesome, worthwhile. Il try pick one up if my circlip goes :(
Are the mounts the same from the whole mk2 range? I need me one of those!!
I'm suprised this hasn't been sussed before now!
it has, many people use the 172 box's with the tray and mount.
what box are you using justin?
i to want to see someone use the 197 box! ive heard bb have made up an adaptor to use it, dunno how true that is though

he's using a ph1 172 (same as ph2 cup boxes, cable speedo) jc5
How do you get around the speedo cable issue with any other box than a ph1 172 one?

don't think you can, it's electric speedo on other boxes

you must be able to. remove the electronic speedo drive and smash in a manual drive  it has to be doable. If not then get a stack dash and a wheel speed sensor

Man ****in knowsit!!!
Stack dashes for the win lol :D
as said, im sure you can take the whole drive unit out
yeah you can on the earlier boxes, but the later ones the speedo signal was taken from the ABS system, and its blanked off where the drive on the box would ususally go.
blanked off with a plate? can it be removed?
I need a 172 box at some point - dont think the diesel will last long

no the casting on the differential housing is different, bit more complex than just blanked off.
i've heard a 197 box wont fit the Mk1 bay anyway, wait till some rich kid on CS puts a 197 lump and box in a mk2 and we shall see from there

do the 197's use an LSD? :o

no, the megane R27 does
The above mount won't fit a valver if you have ABS, at least not without modification.
I've created a guide on Clio16valver explaining how to get it to fit.
