i've got this knock/clunk from some where on the front when pulling off, i,ve have changed the bone shaped mount underneath but is still there, tried to rock the engine manualy and also by jerking the clutch, there is a bit of engine movement but nothing i could see to say thats the problem. Any one had this before?? the car has done 110000mls :?

Same here - A clunking noise when pulling away. And then also the same kind of noise when coming to a stand still. Usually does it just after I've let the clutch out, or when I'm dipping the clutch coming to a stop (though I doubt it's got anything to do with it - just so happens to be around that point).

Used to do it in my 205 too :?

I've got just the same problem with mine, only does it in first when pulling away, sure its an engine mount, just haven't got round to finding which one. There doesn't seem much movement on the engine though when you rock it about by hand

205's and 206's suffer really bad with the ARB bushes wearing. Maybe something to check....

hmm i was told clunking from the front while pulling off might be a lowerball joint, although i get a clunking while corning to the right some times, but not sure if its somthing lose in my glove box :) only does it on bumps, will have to empty it out lol

I had a rattling from the front, that turned out to be a loose subframe bolt, so go figure

Dont know if this helps but try this:

Apply the handbreak stick it in 1st gear and slowly release the clutch just enough to put stress on the engine mounts and suspension components.
do the same in reverse.
With a friend you may be able to source the clunk.
