Wondered what service schedules people follow for their competition cars / cup racers.

Car has just completed it second rally at the weekend and all went well and had a good result but i have some time before the next one to do some more bits and pieces.

It does get a once over but your not going to change:-

Oil / filter
plugs
filters
dizzy cap / r-arm
coolant flush
gearbox oil
etc

every event (between 30-60 miles).

oil would be done every meeting,

plugs, dizzy ect would be once a year or 500 miles, same as things like coolant and box oils

Why every meeting surely oil last longer than 30-50 miles hard use ?

As above, mine would get done every meeting, for what it costs, its not worth blowing up you nicely balanced, blue printed etc etc engine

Mine get a oil change every other trackday....which is around 300miles.

Other than that its a quick once over....

Brakes, all fluids and a mechanical check.

Suprised really, on the rally forums they only change every 200 comp miles min. For me its 4 events (or 2 national events) !!

I guess you will do more miles than a rally on a trackday.

Think every 3-4 rallies is fine. When it did britcar it used to run 6 hours non stop - i guess 400 miles plus (apart from fuel & tyres stops).!!

What type of oil are you using? If it's something like a 10w-60 fully synth I'd assume it would be ok for a couple of races, can't imagine the oil breaking down after 50 miles of competition use?
