Okay! here goes...

Got the clio on the road tonight and am having a bad wobbling coming from the front of the car.

It cant be:

Bent wheels - Tried another set,
Bearings - Have been changed
Wheel nuts - All tight

I have widetracked the car, and is fitted with avo coilovers. Which as far as i am aware are all fitted sound.

Driveshafts were bought from Cit-Ren brakers.

I have fitted new track rod ends for the widetrack and the alignment/tracking is way out. Would this cause a kind of "skipping"... there is no banging, just a kind of skip when going round bends and when getting up speed/accellerating!!!

Ideas anyone?

Help appreciated!

Sam

Sounds like it could be the inner cv joint on the o/s driveshaft.

Its the inner CV... 99 sure :(

Does anyone have any tips for changing inner CV? I have a 16v shaft in the garage which im going to try and fit to the willy one.

How difficult? tips and tricks? guide?

Left and right driveshaft imbalance would be my guess.

Fit on you old driveshafts and see if the problem goes away.

Had the same problem - was my Drivers side driveshaft.

This may be of help...

DONT FIT VALVER SHAFTS!!!! When i widetracked my car using 19 16v shaft and i had a knocking cos they were too long, tried fitting a 16v one and went to pull away and bang, the inner joint on the drivers side popped out, if this had happened when i was driving along it could have been messy.

Changing an inner joint is messy, the tripod is fitted to the splines and then the splines are peened over, but if its just the inner joint dried out then do what i did, change the cup and fill it with grease, this is what i did to the driveshaft i bought and its perfect now, be careful getting the boot off tho..

Is it when your cornering or at any speed?

Sorry, miss the part of his post that said it was previously 16V narrow track. Borrow a set wide track driveshafts (that's known to work properly) to verify whether it imbalanced driveshafts.

Or he could use his 16v wishbones + 16v driveshafts - a little positive camber never hurt anyone :D
